Those ideas took shape on the road while touring the U.S. and Mexico with Arctic Monkeys. During this period, the band members shared influences and connected over artists known for building immersive creative worlds—such as Shygirl, Sega Bodega, Mos Def, A$AP Ferg, OutKast, and Korn—blending the aesthetic of electronic, hip hop, and heavy metal into their evolving sound.

Individual experiences also shaped the album: O'Connell relocated to Spain’s Castile-La Mancha and became a father; Chatten spent time in LA; Deegan explored life in Paris. Back in London, they each pushed their creative limits—experimenting with riffs, chord progressions, and lyrical concepts with no set intention for a new record.

Following their U.S. arena tour in Autumn 2023, the band regrouped and spent a month writing together, followed by three weeks of pre-production in a North London studio, and then a month recording in a chateau near Paris, completely immersed in the process.
