RELAXER, is the follow up to alt-J’s number one, Grammy and Brit Award-nominated album This Is All Yours, and was recorded all over London – from Shoreditch to St John's Wood, Crouch Hill to Brixton - with producer Charlie Andrew for a third time. RELAXER suggest – like an executable file, to be played in moments of emotional escape. Its compact eight tracks, running at a mere 40 minutes, offer controlled segments of medidative horizons and wry alt-pop – sequenced like binary code.

The 8-tracker opens with "3WW" and closes with "Pleader," and you'll quickly notice the presence of strings. In addition to orchestral arrangements, the LP incorporates various styles—electronica, psych, garage rock, and more—into the mix. What brings together the different textures is the overall tone of the album: slowed-down, dramatic, dark, and gently odd. A lot of good ideas happening here, and kudos to the band for having the courage to keep its sound evolving (alt + j types ∆!).
